Cooperative Designs, Vauxhall Fashion Scout
Cooperative Designs presentation at Vauxhall Fashion Scout delivered another welcome batch of Annalisa Dunn and Dorothee Hagemann’s edgy, youthful brand of knitwear.
A powerful almost ‘Grace Jones’ vibe emerged in their latest collection. Influenced by the Bauhaus and specifically the work of weaver Gunta Stoelzl, stripes and cut-away panels abound, looping the body – the silhouette clings closely, occasionally complemented by looser, skimming graphic shapes. Strong black and white is used for disconnected, geometric patterning and injected with bold shades of tangerine and cobalt. Bespoke fabrics created by UK weavers Dash & Miller have been combined within the knits.
This is only the second year for the design duo, who met while studying for their MA in fashion at Central Saint Martins. This collection confirms their fresh, uncompromising edge. Sexy, bold and youthful, this collection is perfect for rock stars or wanabees, and wearing these pieces will certainly set you apart from the crowd.
