Brigitte Bardot and the Original Paparazzi

The sophisticated Savile Row location perfectly reflects the persona behind the latest James Hyman Gallery exhibition – Brigitte Bardot and the Original Paparazzi.

The James Hyman Gallery is an open plan oasis away from the hustle of the street above. Airily pale walls, with the occasional baby pink, are punctuated by image after image of the soft femininity that was Brigitte Bardot.

A series of thick black frames encapsulate the photographs on display. Each allows a small glimpse into a life and lifestyle that begun 75 years ago. Brigitte Bardot and the Original Paparazzi serves as a commemoration of a life that was enriched with love, fame, success and cameras.

Broken down into sections this exhibition allows even those less familiar with the work of the French starlet to better understand her life. As illusive with her private life as she was extrovert in the public eye, this Brigitte Bardot exhibition is a true insight to both.

Featuring images of Bardot with each of her 3 husbands, with artist Pablo Picasso, partying on boats and larking around dressed up as Charlie Chaplin a real sense of the stars character can be felt.

A bouncing blonde actress, model and singer and muse Bardot cleared the path for modern gap-toothed beauties such as Lara Stone and Georgia May Jagger. Her high cheekbones, plump pout and cat-like brown eyes have made Bardot an icon who has stood the fashionable test of time.

Offering a delightful and refreshing look into Bardot’s life, the Brigitte Bardot and the Original Paparazzi exhibition runs until Saturday 3rd October, entrance is free.
