Chandelier and Lamp Stencils, Kyu-Seon Lee, 100% Design
Kyu-Seon Lee graduated this year with an MA in Textile Design from the Royal College of Art and at 100% Design he showcased his graduate conceptual piece, Secret Links that visualises social networking sites, as well as his stencils for which he won the Crown Project this year with his elegant chandelier.
The chandelier has a light-hearted feel, with everyday objects incorporated into the design, such as Victorian house keys and decorative corkscrews. Since winning the competition, Kyu-Seon has added some new designs, including two lamps – a standard lamp with fringing of timepiece objects, including a wristwatch, pocket watch and a classic alarm clock and also an Anglepoise-style desk version with his trademark fringing.

Secret Links, Kyu-Seon Lee, 100% Design
The Secret Links project came from Kyu-Seon’s observation that the most important value in his life came from the people around him and created a piece that plots the complex, always shifting relationships that can often be hidden and also have an element of chance, and accidental encounters written into them. The piece uses electroluminescent wires and and a new type of digital Polaroid technique. The installation is based on fingerprints taken from his social network and as new images are added and the relationships change, the piece lights up to show new possible and real connections.
