Gareth Dunster and Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, Lane Crawford
This Christmas speciality store group Lane Crawford has commissioned eye-catching visual installations from artists and designers from around the globe to illuminate its Hong Kong and Beijing stores.
A team of local teenagers from the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, lead by artist Gareth Dunster, have collaborated with Lane Crawford to make three robots out of recycled materials – old televisions, toys and Christmas decorations. The Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (YAP) is a charity that provides high quality, non-competitive arts experiences for all young people aged 5 to 25.

Tom Deininger, Lane Crawford
American artist Tom Deininger creates works that at first glance appear to be paintings – look more closely and you can see that they are all made up of recycled and discarded materials. For this Christmas, Deininger has composed two pieces of artwork for Lane Crawford, one features a Santa Claus made out of recycled materials and the other is an installation of hanging fine dining sets that are set into the shape of a tree.

Chris Kabela, Lane Crawford
Rotterdam-based Chris Kabel, a graduate in 2000 from the Design Academy Eindhoven, has created large star-burst inflatable decorations in colourful metallic to hang from the ceiling.
In addition, Taiwanese textile artist Hsiao-Chi Tsai, a 2006 graduate from London’s Royal College of Art, has created a giant tree from laser-cut foam for Lane Crawford in colourful and explosive shapes and Hong-Kong born Kenneth Tin-Kin Hung, who now lives and works in New York, has created a fun-satirical pop-up book for Lane Crawford for the festive season.
