The title Porcelain Papillon refers to ‘The butterfly, symbolic of transformation. It captures everyones attention and is as fragile as porcelain.’

‘An abundance of butterflies, captured in their multitude of shapes and forms are the inspiration for the hourglass, body conscious designs – strict shapes that create a tribute to the figure.’

‘Vulnerability and the need for protection are central themes. This is translated into the use of leather and chunky knitwear combined with faux fur, lace and silk.’

‘The inspiration comes from luxurious and delicate designs from Paris in the 1940s and 1950s. The silhouettes emphasise high waists and slim legs, with pencil skirts and tight dresses; colours such as ruby red, champagne, ochre yellow, black and mint green infuse the designs with sparkle and warmth.’

At AMFI, the three core fashion disciplines of design, management and branding come together to create, manage and market the collection.
