Inspired by the writing of Emily Dickinson, William Blake, Dante and Milton.’

Foreign Bodies, Jonathan Mist
Foreign Bodies by Jonathan Mist looks at the beauty of discarded clothing: ’It is unusual to see clothes left strewn in areas of natural beauty, in bags, torn and ruptured. These items that function to be worn and that aesthetically veil the body. Put in that position mixed emotions can filter the mind, questioning the individual for their actions. Pausing at these found items they metamorphose beyond normality into the undergrowth of Mother Nature.
‘It is also however the hidden factors of slow decomposition that can inflict damage to the countryside. The aim of this body of work provides an insight into the questions of throw away fashion. Whilst the work aims to shift away from the traditions of fashion photography, attempts are also made to study their defects and penetrate their exterior to seek and recall the existence of memory.’

One Child Policy, Yifei Shu
Yifei Shu draws on her Chinese heritage for a series called One Child Policy and reminisces about having an older brother, feeling lonely in London and is a mix of photography, cartoon-style graphics, notes and scribbles.
