Alice Palmer autumn/winter 2010/11
London based knitwear designer Alice Palmer launched her a/w 2010 collection this week at Vauxhall Fashion Scout. The collection showcased a range of sensual knitwear, that clung to the models’ bodies as they marched down the runway. The collection’s electronic soundtrack, which featured a sexually explicit song from singer Peaches, summed up the future sex that appeared in the collection.
A range of fine gauge dresses, jerseys and crop knit tops made their way down the runway, with metallic detail featured on some of them including silver spiked leggings which were shown on a selection of the pieces.
Each garment had pinched and gathered parts within it to create bumps and lumps in the knitwear, giving the collection an almost alien predator feel and a futuristic aesthetic. The models’ hair was pulled back to almost form two ridges in their heads; echoing this theme.

The yarns used are fine wools and cottons, with the majority of the pieces being monochrome, again adding to the futuristic feel of the collection, yet immediately showing Alice’s signature style.
The music, the styling, the hair shows that this a sexually confident and futuristic collection ready to take over the earth – one piece of knitwear at a time.
