Emilio de la Moreno autumn/winter 2010/11
Emilio de la Moreno showed his particular vision of femininity at the BFC space at LFW. Exotic, sexy short dresses were paraded in smudgy, atmospheric prints of inky blue and brown, featuring sharp origami-like folded details.
The designer mixed these prints with splashes of leopard print for glamour before adding in a touch of grungy style – such as a short, grey knitted dress. Other notable elements included silvery metallic printed chunky knit sweaters, and a wool biker styled jacket.

Pale marine tones were mixed with browns and gunmetal greys and highlighted with stronger tones of green and turquoise. There were colourful wool coats in shades of blue and turquoise, with oversized pockets and chunky silver zips, and for evening, he showed sexy dressed up glamour with sheer devour lace dresses in black or white – some featuring cheeky fan-tailed folded ‘bustles’ at the back.
Spanish born Emilio came to fashion design later than most of his contemporaries. He first studied sculpture in Spain, before deciding to take up fashion design at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. He then worked for Jonathan Saunders before starting his own fashion label in 2005. He has gained a raft of celebrity fans including singer Roisin Murphy and style blogger Susie Bubble.
