Ramón Gurillo autumn/winter 2010/11
The Spanish born designer hit London’s Victoria House with On|Off this season showcasing a cool collection of unfitted knitwear, chiffon dresses and transparent jump suits.
Unlike the loose silks and cottons many other catwalk shows brought to us, Gurillo showed how baggy yet sexy styles can be worn through chunky wool and knit. ‘Fishnet’ knit-work to the extreme created a new twist to the transparent fabrics we saw brought forward from autumn/winter 09 combined with figure hugging leotards casually worn beneath these fabulous knit dresses.

Towards the lighter end of the spectrum, we saw many brilliant white pieces, complementing the English rose skin tones. In contrast we saw coal black jumpers paired with tailored pipe trousers and slouched woollen hats. A complete combination of summer meets winter in this collection clearly demonstrating the change in climate. A collection so versatile, it provides style for each stage of the season.
Ramón Gurillo captured a real casual, slouched approach, but still brought sexy and stylish elements to his collection. Gurillo’s designs fitted perfectly with the London scene and with the occasional splash of scarlet reds and deep navy blues, his collection leaves us ready for the next seasons to come.
