Michael van der Ham; Unique; Louise Grey
Highlights of Day 2 sees Fashion East, Unique from Topshop, Louise Grey, Mark Fast, Mary Katrantzou and Holly Fulton at Somerset House, Iris van Herpen and Jacob Kimme at Vauxhall Fashion Scout and Belle Sauvage and Bryce Aime at On|Off.
Fashion East saw a strong collection from Michael van der Ham referencing and mixing vintage eras, mad milliner turned accessories designer Nasir Mazhar and elegantly-masculine minimalist pieces from Heikki Salonen. Unique took us deep into the woods of Eastern Europe for folklore with a modern twist, and Louise Grey showcased her work as a presentation set onto painted cardboard backdrops.

Iris Van Herpen; Jacob Kimme; Jasper Garvida
Vauxhall Fashion Scout gave us Iris Van Herpen, who moved on her techniques of plaited and engineered ribbons into molten bronzes fused with black. Jacob Kimme featured a palette of black and white for streamlined shapes with dramatic decoration of cut-outs and laces. Jasper Garvida took inspiration from Art Deco and the 20s in a restrained colour range of black, white, grey and mineral greens.

Mark Fast; Mary Katrantzou; Holly Fulton
Later at Somerset House we saw Mark Fast create a more sophisticated and slightly softer edge to his sculptural silhouettes, introducing knotting techniques. Mary Katrantzou moved her prints onto a story of European aristocratic display, with sashes and medals, regalia and jewels. Holly Fulton took her geometric Art-Deco style prints and added more contrast to textures and shapes.

Bryce Aime; House of Blue Eyes
Over at On|Off, Bryce Aime fused sci-fi for bold colour stories in black with bright purples, while Belle Sauvage referenced industrial machinery for their dramatic digital prints.
Finally, House of Blue Eyes at Vauxhall Fashion Scout added some well-needed colour and lightness to London’s grey February weather.
