Winchester School of Art Fashion & Textiles catwalk show 2011

Juuhau Zane, Winchester School of Art

Winchester School of Art fashion and textile graduates brought their catwalk show to the Truman Brewery this June.

Juuhau Zane presented an edgy menswear collection; the style was very grunge and consisted of trousers patchworked together from existing denim garment and parts dyed a bright acidy blue, with oversized leather jackets with gold embellishments off the shoulder. In addition, throughout the collection there were black and white prints of cigarette butts. Innovative menswear design with a touch of androgyny.

Rosie Davis, Winchester School of Art

Rosie Davis’s confident bright colours were combined with structure and line and featured items such as a transparent raincoat with bright blue and yellow pockets and patent leather shorts with 3D pocket details. The collection was well accessorised with a selection of googles, helment and polkadot tights.

Rebecca Hunt, Winchester School of Art

Rebecca Hunt presented a well-though out collection using her own original prints of triangles layered up in different proportions. The collection also incorporated some soft draping contrasted against hard graphic lines; a black sheer jumpsuit was well accessorised with a perspex necklace.

Jessica Lightowler, Winchester School of Art

Jessica Lightowler’s knitwear pieces featured beautiful fine-gauge constructed garments. The colour pallete consisted of brights clashing reds against pinks and bright greens against pinks. The collection finale was an elegant floor length red dress.

Hayley Kiley, Winchester School of Art

Hayley Kiley’s collection was sport-style influenced menswear with bold use of colour. Hayley’s knitwear garments ranged from loose fitting trousers with shaped panels in contrast colours and jumpers with contrasted panels and patterns.

Jizun Gao, Winchester School of Art

Jizun Gao’s all-white collection was simple yet sophisticated. The garments were intricately cut and the sheer fabrics created a more than elegant feel, with the shapes beautifully draping into dresses. Overall, the collection was clear cut and well made.
