To celebrate the past ten years of Fashion Awareness Direct, the creative charity put on a retrospective runway show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout showcasing the winning designs from the past decade alongside the finalists’ AW 2012-13 collections.
Previous FAD finalists such as London College of Fashion graduate Beatrice Newman whose designs have now been worn by the likes of Alesha Dixon and Shingai Shoniwa, Katie Pope who is now part of establish design team Harnett Pope and Rasa Abramaviciute who has joined the design team at Vivienne Westwood were in attendance.
We were wowed by how much the designs and the techniques have matured over the years as the FAD finalists have gained more real world experiences.
In case you aren’t aware of FAD, the creative charity works with 13 to 25-year-olds to help them gain insight into the inner workings of the fashion industry through workshops, industry days and catwalk events.
The charity also works in collaboration with some of the top fashion brands such as Paul Smith and Missoni to help bridge the gap between education and the world of working.
