New design collective Bricolage caught our eye at Tent London. Five talented textile designers, all recent-years graduates from Chelsea College of Art & Design, showcased their work together – creating a strong complementary mood. Their modern styling has a warm retro ‘50’s vibe which should be a sure-fire hit.

Yemi Awosil and Katherine May specialise in stitch, Polly Burton and Clara Vuletich concerntrate on print, pattern and painting and Naomi Paul’s forte is in knitwear. Naomi’s lovely knitted cushions really hit the right note – they look fresh and new yet seem comfortingly familiar at the same time.

The friends work as individuals, but decided to form Bricolage to create a supportive team. We recognised the distinctive printed wallpaper from Clara Vuletich – as it adorns the cafe area of the Papered Parlour in Clapham – another of our favourite ventures. The two share a similar ethos – pooling artistic talent and sharing resources and information. We welcome a new spirit of collaboration above competition – long may it continue.
