The V&A museum has opened its doors to welcome visitors to experience and view a fine collection of Grace Kelly’s dresses and items that she owned throughout her lifetime.

The exhibition itself was separated into the different stages of her life in the public eye. We loved the ballgown designed by Maggy Rouff – a huge light pink puffball-esque dress with sequin detailing. On the bust of the dress is a large mesh bow, inset with springs of lavender.

Inspired by Cubism and the Bauhaus “because of the attention to the graphic, strong colour and symmetry”, Holly Fulton is in a league of her own.

Friday kicked off with a BFC reception for the exhibition Hedonism – devoted to hats and curated by Stephen Jones. Artistic direction by Michael Howells saw soft grey rococo cameos decorating the walls and a monochromatic display of hat boxes and teacups Mad-Hatter style.

Set inside the Kiddell Gallery at Sotheby’s, New Bond Street, is a short-run exhibition September 16-20, curated by Janice Blackburn, featuring the work of 2009 graduates, plus a few still yet to graduate.
Janice has picked out the Sèvres project from the Royal College of Art (RCA), five MA jewellery graduates from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (CSM), plus photography and fine art.
