ARTS THREAD takes a look at some of the highlights from the RCA 2011 Vehicle Design MA show.

Following on from auto design we look at how transport design encompasses a wider range of products, from everyday items to the recreational.

Utilising design is the way that auto industry always moves forward. Many of the universities showcasing auto design at this year’s New Designers demonstrate an understanding of how we need to utilise our travel needs in an ever changing world.

Since its launch in 1998 the Saint Étienne International Design Biennial has grown considerably. This edition runs from November 20 to December 05 2010 and is organised by the Cité du Design and the Saint Étienne Higher School of Art and Design. One of the key exhibitions on show is Demain, c’est aujourd’hui #3, dedicated to how we will live in the future.

At New Designers part 2, upcoming transport design graduates wowed us with their prototype creations. From boats to planes, to bikes to sports cars, all areas showcased thoughtful and well-researched projects.
