The second week of New Designers 2011 award winners include Lucinda Ireland from Nottingham Trent University who has won the Hallmark Award this year for her innovative typography designs.
Golden Sun Movement Presents 'ON'
Music can be a huge influence on art and design, from the psychedelic 60′s through to the raves of house music in the 90′s and ‘ON’ exhibition demonstrates just that. Working under the collective of Golden Sun Movement, London based artists Luke Insect, Leo Zero and David Little have come together for their first exhibition to showcase their work at East London’s Idea Generation Gallery.

Make Your Mark, Landscape, Sunset Over Waves, Anthony Burrill, 2010
Legendary British designer Anthony Burrill is taking residency in the Somerset House Open Studio as part of Pick Me Up, the UK’s first and foremost contemporary graphic art fair. As part of his ten day residency, Anthony will be inviting long-time collaborators such as Wilfrid Wood and Emily Forgot to produce new work from a variety of different mediums. ARTS THREAD was privileged enough to ask Anthony a few questions during his busy schedule.

2010 marks the bicentennial anniversary of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s (1749 – 1832) Theory of Colours. To celebrate, the Society of Hungarian Graphic Designers & Typographers (MATT) launched the international Goetherie competition. A wide array of posters, logotypes, publications and typographic works were submitted by some of Hungary’s most accomplished graphic designers with the 50 best entries being showcased at Graphifest 2010 in the Budapest Design Terminal. House Of Voltaire
Contemporary arts space Studio Voltaire, launched their new temporary pop up shop ‘House Of Voltaire’ this November. The shop itself is based on Bruton Place in ‘Upstairs at Rupert Sanderson’, the new studio space housed above Rupert Sanderson’s boutique.
At onedotzero’s recent adventures in motion festival at London’s BFI, the forty graduates who took part in the organisation’s cascade project presented the results of their four projects that were based around the festival’s theme of Utopian Visions.
